Quick Apple Salsa

Learning about the seasons for varieties of apples is interesting from a chefs perspective, working out different uses for the apples in season is a rewarding challenge

Orange is a fantastic place to live and cook in with all of the fresh produce available, especially the apples. Fresh crispy apples with flavour are second to none and the finished product using these local apples is far superior to using apples that have been held in storage for months.


2 Orange Granny Smith apples, diced
1/2 diced red onion
1 diced red capsicum
juice of ½ a lime
1 chopped fresh chilli
1 teaspoon sugar

Mix all ingredients together and serve over grilled chicken or fish.
